Description
This easy, paved path provides access to the underside of the Linn Cove Viaduct, an engineering marvel of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This structure was built from the top down, allowing the fragile environment beneath it to be relatively undisturbed. The only places where heavy equipment was on the ground was where the support piers were actually poured. This trail continues on as the Tanawah Trail, a 13 mile trek around the side of Grandfather Mountain.
This trail is located in the Blue Ridge Parkway Section 2 area. For a list of all the trails in that area, see the Blue Ridge Parkway Section 2 trails list page.
